• Look ahead: OMD controller has 1000 lines look-ahead capability. CAD-CAM softwares generate paths with many small lines. Controller plans the movement, taking the next 1000 lines of program into account and thus eliminates unnecessary acceleration and decelerations.

• High precision: OMD controller uses feed forward in its control loop. This keeps the lag to a very low extent, even when moving at very high speeds (0.01 mm at 30000 mm/min).

• Backward mode: OMD controller has backward feature. This feature is useful especially in flame-cutting and drilling machines. In flame-cutting machines, if the flame is turned off, and operator is notified after a while, he can order the machine to turn back to an appropriate point and continue execution from there.

• No need to DNC: OMD controller has 40 Gb hard disk capacity. It can store and execute any program without requiring a PC or laptop for DNC. DNC cables and interfaces are a major source of problems to CNC machines.

• Start execution from any point in the program: Operator can start the program from any line and not necessarily from the beginning. Furthermore if the program is interrupted, for example because of a power failure, it can be resumed from the point of interruption. OMD controller automatically remembers the last executed line, and can continue execution from that point.
